Dr. Bibian Ugoala brings over two decades of expertise in teaching and education, with a distinguished career spanning various prestigious institutions. Below is an overview of her professional experience:

With extensive experience in education, I have served as a part-time Instructional Tutorial Facilitator and Project Supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria since 2019, specifically at the Wuse II Study Centre. Additionally, I held the position of Adjunct Lecturer (Sandwich) at the University of Lagos from 2014 to 2016 within the Faculty of Education. My commitment to professional development is evident from my role in the Staff Training Unit at the University of Lagos from 2016 to 2017. Currently, I am a Lecturer I in the Department of English Languages at the National Open University of Nigeria and also serve as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the Federal School of Biomedical Engineering since 2017.

My educational journey has been extensive and diverse, beginning at Essi College in Warri, Delta State, from 1982 to 1987. I furthered my studies at the Federal Polytechnic in Oko, Anambra State, where I completed my programs between 1989 and 1994. I then pursued higher education at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, earning degrees from 2001 to 2015. This comprehensive background has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute effectively to the academic community and support student learning across various disciplines.

Communication is fundamental to all human endeavors, underpinning various sectors. With over 20 years of experience in English-language lecturing, I utilize modern teaching methods and assessment systems to deliver high-quality instruction across diverse programs.

Linguistic Association of Nigeria, and the Pragmatics Association of Nigeria, with research interests in Critical Discourse Analysis and online communication.

Member
